LIANZA office Christmas hours
The LIANZA office will be closed from 4:00pm December 24th 2010 and will reopen again at 8:30am January 5th 2011.

I have to pinch and punch myself occasionally to remind myself that life is not to be lived solely in the internet ether. The relationships I make and build online, complement the relationships I have In Real Life (IRL), and that online facet complements the collegial and personal relationship I may be lucky enough to have with them also.

Interloan - Copying For Overseas Libraries
The Copyright Act 1994 permits librarians of prescribed New Zealand libraries to make copies for the users of other prescribed libraries (section 53), for the collections of other prescribed libraries (section 54), or for the replacement of items in the collections of other prescribed libraries (section 55). Since overseas libraries were not prescribed libraries under the terms of section 50 (as amended), prescribed New Zealand libraries were not permitted under these sections to make copies for overseas libraries

As another school year draws to a close, it is a very busy time for secondary school librarians. As our senior students prepare to go on study leave, we must find the time to sort out their sign-out forms, notify families of outstanding library resources, all the while keeping the library open for the junior students, and continuing to assist those students trying to secure some final credits for NCEA.
