From the President
This weekend I have been in the snow clad hills of South Wairarapa north of Wellington. I enjoyed a lively discussion last night with non-library friends about the future of librarians and information professionals. I mentioned to them the planned LIANZA Council conference session "Building a stronger profession" ...

Copy - Right?
It’s ok to copy, right?
I'm beginning to get the idea that the new law to come into effect on September the 1st will affect us in libraries, and I really need to do some thorough reading up on it.

LIANZA Volunteer Award REMINDER
A volunteer award or “virtual bouquet”, to recognise (and validate) the contribution of our peers to the cause of LIANZA was announced in issue #363 27th July 2011 of Library Life with little fanfare.
I’d like to give that message a little more space in this issue so that you can take a moment to tally up the many LIANZA members that you know, that are deserving of this award.
If you have a colleague in mind that you feel is deserving of this award and would like to nominate, please contact me (Hana) and tell us who you’re nominating and what they’ve done for LIANZA, BIG or small.
