The PHARMAC Seminar Series is continuing in 2009 and we have now confirmed seminar topics and dates for the first part of the year. This year we will be repeating a number of popular seminars from 2008 as well as introducing a few new seminars. To view the seminars confirmed to date please visit the seminars page of our website.

Attendance at seminars contributes towards continuing professional development for GP's (the Seminar Series is accredited by the RNZCGPs as a CME provider), nurses, midwives (selected seminars are accredited by the Midwifery Council) and pharmacists. 

PHARMAC covers the cost of travel to and from seminars. The cost to participants is a registration fee of $100 (excl GST).

This year we welcome three new directors to the PHARMAC Seminar Series Board.

Karen Hoare, Lecturer at the Goodfellow Unit, School of General Practice and Primary Health Care, University of Auckland, will be directing her first seminar - Communication in General Practice - in March.

Felix Ram, Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacology, Massey University, Auckland also joins us and will be facilitating a pharmacology seminar in association with Karen Hoare later this year.

Henry Doerr, GP and Senior Lecturer, School of General Practice and Primary Health Care, University of Auckland will also be joining us and will be facilitating a seminar later in the year, topic to be confirmed.
