Kia ora e hoa,

It’s been another great year for Boost. We’ve completed an exciting bunch of projects, and we’re looking forward to some new ones in 2010. It’s hard to believe that we’re already digging out the frisbees and dusting off our jandals in preparation for the summer break!

Ho ho ho!

Last year, instead of sending gifts to our clients, we gave porridge to Africa. This year, we’ve invested in 27 micro-finance businesses throughout Asia and the Middle East. As the businesses pay off their loans, we'll be re-investing the money in more small businesses.

IntuitionHQ

We’ve launched a fantastic new web application for testing the usability of websites. We developed it for our own use, and our clients loved it, so we’ve released it to the wild for the bargain-basement price of $5 per test. If you sign up now, drop us a line to tell us the custom URL you’ve chosen for your account, and we’ll make your first test free!

Aotearoa People’s Network Kaharoa (APNK)

We’ve worked with the folks at APNK to create two easy-to-maintain websites. The first is a marketing site to promote free broadband internet and other services on offer in public libraries who are part of the network. The second is a website that libraries can customise and that the public uses to access the services. We’re proud to have played our part in a project that is making such a valuable contribution to communities around Aotearoa.

Social Services Industry Training Organisation (SSITO)

A couple of months ago, we launched a website for the SSITO. We’ve really enjoyed working with their great team. We’ve created a fresh and friendly new brand that reflects the organisation’s values and gives emphasis to the people and partnerships at the heart of their work.

Te Papa Social Networking Workshops

During October, Sarah, one of our project managers, jetted about the country to hold workshops for Te Papa National Services. These popular workshops introduced social media tools and practical strategies to museums staff. You can read Sarah’s musings on the Boost Blog.

Boost in the Asia Pacific Fast 500 and the Onyas

We are delighted to be included the 2009 Deloitte Asia Pacific Technology Fast 500 for the fastest growing companies, with a ranking at number 318. And while we’re patting ourselves on the back, DigitalNZ is a finalist in the Onyas award for ‘most outstanding website’. Boost created the branding and design and led some of the development for DigitalNZ, a project run by the National Library.
